Plan Adaptations

One-on-one sessions or Group Sessions offer educational support for Neurodiverse students. In these sessions, I adapt the teaching style to resonate with the learner and minimize stressful environments. Therefore, locations can vary and accommodate to the learner’s likes and needs.

Adult Workshops allow parents, educators, caregivers or really anyone to learn the techniques and skills to help the neurodiverse people in their lives thrive! Workshops include, but are not limited to, Adapting Environments for Positive Learning Outcomes, Working with Your Child's Enthusiasms to Generate Success, Creating Inclusive Classrooms, and many more. (Special Requests are Welcomed)

Family Sessions are essentially tutoring sessions for the whole family. Perhaps your child needs extra support with classroom material, and you want to learn more about how to provide it. These sessions allow you both to learn and grow together as you navigate educational barriers.

Is your kiddo struggling with a specific subject or topic but doesn't have enough time for tutoring lessons? Let me create a learning package that adapts the learning material to fit your child's learning style. With your child’s educator’s permission, we can communicate as a team to efficiently bring your child an inclusive learning alternative in which your child doesn’t fall behind.

My Teaching Pedagogy

Creating an atmosphere that promotes inclusivity, accessibility, and equity are values I strongly stand for and significantly influence my teaching style. I advocate that every student will have different needs, learning styles, home environments, acquired childhood experiences and many other outside factors impacting their learning. Therefore, it should not be a student's job to adapt to a learning style an educator favours, but that the educator modify, adjust, and adapt to each student's unique learning characteristics.

To learn more about principles I utilize, please refer to the following resources:

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

UDL promotes a three block model which is a framework promoting important qualities of inclusive education; social and emotional well-being and belonging, inclusive instruction- al practice, and systems and structures. Moreover, the Three-Block Model promotes four pillars: Self-worth, Belonging, Cognitive challenge, and Social learning.

Scerts:

SCERTS focuses on building competence in Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support as the highest priorities that must be addressed in any program, and is applicable for individuals with a wide range of abilities and ages across home, school and community settings.
